FAQs
How do I get to Green Man?
Best bet is the train to Abergavenny (from Cardiff Central it's about 45 mins, from London Paddington around 2 hours via Cardiff). Official Green Man shuttle buses run from Abergavenny station direct to the Glanusk Estate — book your shuttle slot in advance, they sell out. Driving: the site is near Crickhowell on the A40; follow festival signage. Parking passes must be bought separately.
Is there parking on site?
Yes, but parking passes are sold separately and tend to sell out. If you're coming from London or Bristol, the train + shuttle combo is genuinely easier and you won't spend Sunday evening in a field traffic jam. Campervan pitches also need a separate pass.
What's the difference between a Settlement ticket and a Weekend ticket?
Settlement ticket holders can arrive from Monday 17 August — a full week of camping before the music starts on Thursday. It's beloved by the hardcore Green Man faithful who want the full slow-build experience. Weekend tickets get you in from Thursday 20th. Both cover the same music programme.
What are the best stages?
The Mountain Stage is the big one — main headliners. Far Out is the psychedelic/electronic/leftfield tent, always brilliant late at night. Walled Garden is intimate and often hosts the most-talked-about sets of the weekend. Einstein's Garden is the late-night science and arts space with some genuinely odd and wonderful performances.
What should I bring?
This is Wales in August — pack for all four seasons in one day. Wellies and waterproofs are non-negotiable even in a heatwave. Green Man has great food traders and a brilliant record fair in the Walled Garden. No glass on site. The crowd is famously friendly and the vibe is very much indie bookshop meets mountain air.
Are children welcome?
Yes — Green Man is very family-friendly. Under 13s go free with a paying adult (up to two kids per adult). There's a dedicated family camping area and kids' activities throughout the weekend.
