FAQs

How do I get to Wyndham's Theatre?

Wyndham's is on Charing Cross Road in the heart of the West End. The nearest tubes are Leicester Square (Northern & Piccadilly lines, 2 mins walk) and Charing Cross (Bakerloo & National Rail, 5 mins walk). Covent Garden tube is also nearby on the Piccadilly line.

Is there parking nearby?

Parking in the West End is very limited and expensive. We strongly recommend public transport. If you must drive, the NCP on Newport Place or Chinatown is the closest car park — but expect to pay £15–£25 for an evening. Congestion charge applies until 6pm on weekdays.

What are the best pubs or restaurants near Wyndham's?

The Salisbury on St Martin's Lane is a gorgeous Victorian pub — perfect for a pre-show pint. For dinner, Quo Vadis on Dean Street and J. Sheekey on St Martin's Court are classic West End favourites. Covent Garden Piazza has plenty of options for all budgets.

What time do doors open?

The theatre bar typically opens 45 minutes before curtain up. Evening performances usually start at 7:30pm; matinees at 2:30pm (check your ticket for the exact time). Late arrivals may not be seated until a suitable break in the performance.

Is there a dress code?

No formal dress code — smart casual is the norm for a West End evening. Many theatregoers dress up a little for the occasion, especially on weekends, but you'll be perfectly at home in whatever you're comfortable in.

What is Hay Fever about?

Written by Noël Coward in 1924, Hay Fever follows the eccentric Bliss family — a retired actress, a novelist, and their adult children — who each invite a guest to their country house for the weekend without telling each other. What follows is a weekend of magnificently bad manners, theatrical excess, and brilliant comedic chaos. One of the great comic plays of the twentieth century.

Which seats are best at Wyndham's?

The Stalls (rows D–L) are widely considered the best seats in the house — close to the action with excellent sight lines. The Dress Circle front rows also offer a superb elevated view. The Upper Circle is great value and gives a fuller picture of the staging. Avoid restricted view seats in the side Grand Circle unless specified.
