FAQs
How do I get to the Adelphi Theatre?
The Adelphi is right on The Strand in central London. Your nearest options are Charing Cross station (a 2-minute walk, served by National Rail and the Bakerloo line), Embankment tube (District & Circle lines, about 5 minutes on foot), or Covent Garden (Piccadilly line, around 8 minutes' walk). Buses along the Strand are plentiful too.
Is there parking nearby?
Central London parking is pricey and limited — we'd honestly recommend the train or tube. If you must drive, the nearest NCP is on Bedfordbury or try the Trafalgar Square area. Better still, consider driving to a Zone 2 tube station and hopping in.
What time do doors open?
The Adelphi typically opens its doors around 45 minutes before curtain up. Evening performances are usually 7:30pm, matinees at 2:30pm (check your ticket for exact times). Arrive a bit early — the bar on the Strand side is worth a pre-show drink.
Where's good for a drink or dinner before the show?
You're spoilt for choice on the Strand and in Covent Garden. The Coal Hole pub (literally next door to the Adelphi) is a classic pre-theatre spot. For dinner, try anywhere in the Covent Garden piazza — J. Sheekey for a splurge, or Flat Iron on St Martin's Lane for a more relaxed steak before the show.
What are the best seats in the Adelphi?
The central stalls rows D–L are the sweet spot — great views and right in the action. The Dress Circle is excellent for a broader view of the stage and usually excellent value. Upper Circle can feel a little steep but the sightlines are surprisingly good for the rear of the stalls stage. Avoid restricted view unless you're on a budget — some pillars in the Upper Circle do obstruct.
Is the show suitable for all ages?
The Comedy About Spies is a West End comedy — generally suitable for ages 12 and up, though check with the box office for any specific guidance. It's a brilliant night out for groups, couples, or a treat-yourself solo evening. Leave the actual spies at home.
