FAQs

Where exactly is The Comedy Store?

It's on Oxendon Street in the West End — just off Haymarket, a two-minute walk from Piccadilly Circus tube. Head downstairs into the basement. You can't miss it.

Which tube stations should I use?

Piccadilly Circus (Bakerloo & Piccadilly lines) is your best bet — it's a 3-minute walk. Leicester Square (Northern & Piccadilly) is also close, about 5 minutes on foot.

What time do doors open and shows start?

Most evening shows open around 7:30pm with an 8pm start. The famous late Saturday show typically starts at midnight. Always check your specific ticket as timings vary by night.

What is King Gong?

King Gong is the Store's legendary Friday night show where new and amateur comedians face a live audience vote. If three people raise their hands, you get gonged off. It's brutal, brilliant, and unpredictable — some of the best nights in comedy.

What is Cutting Edge?

Cutting Edge is the Store's topical comedy night — comics riff on the week's news. It runs most Tuesdays and is one of the sharpest, most topical shows in London. Great for political comedy fans.

Are there any good bars or pubs nearby before the show?

The Comedy Store has its own bar inside — get there early and grab a drink before the show. Nearby, The Green Man on Riding House Street and pubs along Haymarket are good pre-show options. The area is classic West End, so there's no shortage of bars.

What's the seating like?

It's a cabaret-style basement venue — round tables, chairs, close to the stage. The front rows get audience interaction (read: heckling targets). If you want a quieter night, go for mid-venue. It seats around 400 and every seat has a good sightline.

Is there parking nearby?

Central London — so parking is expensive and not recommended. The West End is brilliantly connected by tube and bus. Cycle hire docks are available on nearby streets. Just take the tube.
