FAQs

How do I get to Neston Park Estate?

The nearest train stations are Chippenham (about 5 miles away) and Bath Spa (about 10 miles). Both are on Great Western Railway from London Paddington. Official shuttle buses run from both stations — strongly recommended as on-site parking is extremely limited and expensive. Book shuttles in advance via the WOMAD website.

Is there parking on site?

There is limited on-site parking available to pre-book — it sells out fast. Car-sharing is encouraged. Most festivalgoers use the official shuttles from Chippenham or Bath Spa stations. If you drive, book your parking pass well ahead through See Tickets.

What's the best place to eat and drink on site?

WOMAD's food village is half the point — expect street food from every corner of the globe. Highlights typically include West African grills, Japanese street food, Lebanese mezze, and the legendary WOMAD curry stalls. The Taste the World area is a must. Bring reusable cups for the bars — WOMAD is serious about sustainability.

Is WOMAD family-friendly?

Absolutely — it's one of the most family-friendly major festivals in the UK. There's a dedicated kids' programme, a family camping area, workshops, storytelling and arts activities for all ages. Under-12s go free with a paying adult.

What should I bring?

Layers for cool evenings, a good waterproof, comfortable walking shoes or wellies if rain's forecast, a reusable water bottle (free water refill points on site), sunscreen, and an open mind. Phone charging points are available but bring a power bank. Cash is useful at some stalls though most accept cards.

What stages are there?

WOMAD typically has four to five stages — the main Open Air Stage for headline acts, the Siam Tent, the Charlie Gillett Stage for more intimate sets, the Arboretum Stage nestled in woodland, and various workshop and talks spaces. The Neston Park Estate grounds are expected to add a beautiful new natural amphitheatre feel.
